The REFER Policy below is used to outline the guidelines on the Employee Referral Program of Sutherland in the APAC region.

The REFER program is geared toward incentivizing and rewarding our employees to REFER within their work peer group and to support our programs globally. The program is designed to reward employees for helping us engage new or returning candidates.

Qualifications

Only active Sutherland employees are eligible for reward when they REFER.

How REFER Works

A cash bonus will be paid to active Sutherland employees who refer qualified external applicants who are hired into the company and reach their milestone dates.

All Referral Bonuses are paid out in the paycheck following the pay period during which the referred employee meets their milestone employment date(s). All milestone dates are based on the referred employee’s start date.

The REFER Process

  1. All referrals must be submitted through the Refer Portal (bit.ly/sutherland-refer) prior to the referred applicant's completion of the application.
  2. Once the referrer successfully submits the referral, it can be viewed in the referrer's Referral Portal dashboard. This only confirms successful submission in the system and not bonus eligibility.
  3. All referrals will be processed by the Recruiting Team.
  4. Successful referrals will be reviewed based on bonus eligibility mechanics. Bonus incentives will be credited following the pay period process based on specified milestone dates of the ERP promo.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Referral Program is open to all employees of Sutherland.
  2. Sutherland employees may refer anyone to the Company regardless of their relationship to the applicant.
  3. Applicants who have worked for Sutherland any time in the past are considered rehires and do not qualify the referrer for a referral bonus.
  4. Referrers must complete the Referral Form in the Refer Portal accurately and in its entirety. Incomplete forms will not be processed for payment and inaccurate forms may cause delays in payment.
  5. Successful referral submission through the Refer Portal should be accomplished to qualify for the referral bonus.
  6. To qualify for the incentive, referrals must confirm the automated e-mail sent by Sutherland after the referrer has successfully submitted their details.
  7. All referrals are valid for six months. After six months, a referral must be resubmitted in order to qualify for the bonus.
  8. If a referred candidate was previously submitted as a referral and has completed their application in the system, the applicant must have at least six months of inactivity in order to be qualified as a new referral.
  9. If two or more employees refer the same applicant, the Referral Form received first will qualify for the bonus payout.
  10. Both the referring employee and the referred applicant must be actively employed on the milestone date(s) in order for the referral to qualify for the bonus. Breaks in employment (resignation, LOA, maternity leave, paternity leave or bench) during the qualifying period will void eligibility.
  11. Referrals will be validated during the interview process to ensure eligibility and accuracy. The referred candidate has to confirm that he has been referred by the employee tagged in the system. Non-confirmation of the candidate will disqualify the referral endorsement.
  12. All Sutherland employees are entitled to participate in the Employee Referral Program except for those who have influence over the hiring process; Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers.
  13. The standard referral bonus will be paid in cash on the paycheck following the pay period during which your referral achieves completion of their milestone; after 90 days and after 120 days. The Talent Acquisition team may create promotions with a higher referral incentive and identify a different set of milestone date/s depending on the hiring requirement and season.
  14. For the purposes of this policy, the term ‘start date’ will specifically refer to an employee’s first day of work, and not the date an applicant accepts an offer of employment.
