Rules and Regulations


A bonus (hereinafter referred to as the REFER bonus) will be paid to active Sutherland employees who refer qualified exernal applicants who are hired into the company and reach their milestone dates. Same rules and regulations apply for candidates that while on recruitment process refer applicants, bonus applies if both are hired.

All REFER bonuses are paid out following the pay period during which the referred employee meets their milestone employment date (s). All milestones are based on the referral employee’s start date.

All referrals must be documented and recognized by the Talent Acquisition Team in order to be eligible for payment.


Process to recommend an applicant:


  • All referrals must be submitted through referral form on the Smart Recruiters platform prior to the referred applicant’s completion of the application.
  • When  you submit a referral, you will receive a submission confirmation from Smart Recruiters platform. This does not confirm eligibility for the bonus, only that the submission was received.
  • All  referrals will be processed by the Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Referrals will be reviewed for bonus eligibility when the referred applicant meets the specified milestone dates.


Policy:


The REFER program is open to all employees at the level L1 – L4.

Sutherland employees may refer anyone to the company, regardless of their relationship to the applicant.

  • If a person you refer is a re-hire (ex-Sutherland employee), to be eligible for bonus their exit date should be more than 18 months prior to the referral submission.
  • All referrals are valid for six months. After six months, a referral must be resubmitted to qualify for bonus.
  • The REFER program is designed to reward employees who encourage new or returning candidates. If a referral is submitted for an applicant who has a completed application process in the system, that applicants must have had six months of inactivity (not involved in an active selection process for any role) for the referring employee to be eligible for bonus. 
  • If two or more employees refers the same applicant, the one that referred the candidate first will qualify for the bonus payout.
  • Both the referring employee and the referred applicant must be actively employed on the milestone date (s) for the referral to qualify for the bonus. Breaks in the employment during the qualifying period will void eligibility.
  • Employees with influence over the hiring process will not be paid for referring applicants to the programs over which they have influence. This included, but is not limited to, employees from Talent Acquisition, also Hiring Managers should not be involved in the interviewing process of applicants that they refer, in order to be eligible for Referral Bonus. 


* The referral bonus is paid out in 2 installments. 50% paid after the first month of employment, 50% paid after six months of employment. Payment is done with next possible payroll cycle.



  • All amounts are gross. All amounts apply  only to premanent positions.
  • For the purpose of this policy, the term “Start Date" will specificllally refer to an employee’s first day to work, and not the the date an applicant accepts and offer of employment.  
  • REFER campaigns are geared toward incentivizing and rewarding our employees to REFER within their work peer group and to support our program globally.

Only L1 – L4 level employees are eligible to the REFER bonus.


Special Referral Campaigns:


TA Director and Director- Account Management may approve Special Referral Campaigns for certain periods. TA will publish such campaigns with information for the valid period, and any other exceptional rule approved.
